microneedling face-neck
This treatment is a combination of microneedling on the face and neck, maintaining problem areas up to twice if necessary, using hyaluronic acid and vitamin C oil, followed by a soothing mask and LED Light Therapy on the neck and décolleté.
The Dermapen micro needling with soothing mask is a treatment that first stimulates cell regeneration and then soothes the skin with a mask tailored to your skin type. The rejuvenation procedure can address many skin complaints and results in bright, nourished and revitalised skin.
Courses of treatments are recommended and your aesthetician will produce a skin care routine that suits you.
PHASE ONE: The treatment begins with the release of the body's growth factors and the further cascade of new epidermal growth, fibroblast chemotaxis, fibroblast proliferation and matrix production. This proliferation of the body’s tissue continues to release growth factors from fibroblasts, keratinocytes and monocytes.
PHASE TWO: Wound healing involves deposition of collagen III, IV and I, elastin, proteoglycans, and GAGs.
PHASE THREE: The last phase results in tissue remodelling where the skins vascular matrix matures and skin tightening. The body’s ability to heal itself is at the heart of this amazing process!
Microneedling - Anti-ageing beauty treatment
Skin needling, also known as microneedling or collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves creating controlled micro-injuries to the skin using a device called a derma roller or a microneedling pen. These micro-injuries stimulate the skin's natural healing process and promote the production of collagen and elastin which are essential for healthy skin. Before the treatment your skincare professional will cleanse your skin and apply a numbing cream to minimize any potential discomfort during the procedure. They may also apply a topical serum or hyaluronic acid to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment. Gently roll or glide the derma roller or micro-needling pen over the skin. The device consists of tiny, fine needles that penetrate the skin at a controlled depth. The depth of the needle penetration is set by therapist based on your specific skin concerns and needs. The needles create microscopic channels or punctures in the skin, triggering the natural healing response of the body.
Treatment products and procedures
Before microneedling, remove makeup and use an antiseptic wipe (alcohol such as isopropyl alcohol or ethanol) to properly disinfect the skin to avoid cross-infection.
During a microneedling treatment, various products can be used to enhance the effectiveness of the procedure and provide additional benefits to the skin, such as topical serums, vitamin C oil, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) or retinol. During the treatment, the depth of the needles of the dermapen can be adjusted between 0.25–1.0 mm, depending on the treated area. Microneedle rollers can also be used.
Post-treatment skincare: Following microneedling it is important to use gentle and nourishing skincare.
Contraindications and contra-actions
Skin conditions: Microneedling is commonly used to address various skin concerns including acne scars, wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin texture. However, individuals with active skin infections like eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, or open wounds, may not be suitable for microneedling. Pregnancy and breastfeeding, sunburn, diabetes, skin infections, skin disease, history of keloid scarring, blood clotting disorders, active skin infections or recent radiation therapy may need to avoid microneedling or proceed with caution.
Contra-actions: redness, bleeding, sensitive skin.
Treatment effects and benefits of skin rejuvenation: Microneedling helps stimulate collagen production, which can improve the elasticity and firmness of your skin. Over time, this can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars, giving your skin a more youthful and refreshed look.
Improved skin texture: Microneedling can help smooth out rough skin texture, making it appear smoother and softer. It can be particularly effective in reducing the appearance of large pores.
Increased product absorption: The micro-channels created by microneedling allow for better absorption of skincare products. After your treatment your skin is more receptive to serums, moisturizers and other topicals, allowing them to penetrate deeper and work more effectively.
Reduced hyperpigmentation: Microneedling can help in reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation such as dark spots, sunspots and age spots. As new collagen is produced, the skin discolorations may become less noticeable.
Enhanced overall skin health: By boosting collagen production and improving blood circulation, microneedling can enhance your skin overall health. It helps strengthen the natural protective function of the skin, making it more resilient against environmental damages and reducing the risk of future skin issues.
After care and homecare advice: Avoid UV exposure, use SPF min 30, moisturise, no makeup 24h, heat treatment, touching the area, don’t pick or scratch, keep it clean, no sweating.
